Known as the anti-diabetes plant, Gymnema contains substances that are said to decrease the absorption of sugar from the intestine. Gymnema may also increase the amount of insulin in the body and increase the growth of cells in the pancreas, which is the place in the body where insulin is made.

Gymnema is also used for metabolic syndrome, weight loss, coughs, malaria, digestive stimulant, laxative, appetite suppressant, and diuretic.

Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to support healthy digestive system functions and improve digestive weaknesses.
