Willow Bark contains a chemical called salicin, which is similar to aspirin. Throughout history Willow Bark has commonly been used for back pain, osteoarthritis, fever, flu, muscle pain.
The bark contains high levels of salicylates and tannins. These compounds have been used traditionally in skin care for their astringency and anti-inflammatory characteristics. Salicylic Acid is used to renew skin, treat acne and enhance skin cell renewal without irritation.
