This glass alcohol burner, or spirit lamp, is wick type and makes an open flame ideal for science, microbiology and the chemistry lab. This lamp is also useful for cupping and moxibustion as a convenient flame sourceand producing negligible smoke odour. Ideal for any clinic.

You can use it with methylated spirits (denatured alcohol), and isopropyl or ethyl alcohol, as long as the alcohol content is 10% or greater. For optimal performance use with 90% or higher alcohol content.

To use;
Take out the wick from the glass body - a bent paperclip may make this easier. The wick should stick out the top of the cap by about 10mm; the wick fibres should then be splayed and spread out.

A snuffer cap is included to extinguish the flame. Note that the snuffer cap only fits over the top of the alcohol burner loosely and won’t prevent the alcohol from evaporating in between uses.

If you won't use the alcohol burner for more than a few hours, you should remove the alcohol from the lamp and return it to the original fuel container.
