Bentonite is a very old clay that has been used as a remedy for many things. The fine powder forms when volcanic ash ages.

Sodium bentonite is used as an absorbent and adsorbent in cosmetics.

Bentonite clay works like a sponge on your skin. It absorbs dirt and oil, like sebum. Too much sebum can lead to acne. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties may help your skin heal.

It also has trace minerals like calcium, iron, copper, and zinc.

Face Mask.
Simply combine bentonite clay and water to form a paste and spread over your face. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes; remove when it begins to feel tight (do not let dry on your skin). Hydrate and moisturize once removed.

Clay Bath.
For skin-soothing benefits from head to toe, add 1/4 cup of Bentonite powder, 1 cup of Epsom salts, and a few drops of your favourite essential oils to warm bath water.
